Ayesha Takia is a daughter of Nishit Takia who is a Gujrati Hindu and mother Faridah Takia who is a Muslima Maharashtrian and half- Caucasian British. She has a younger sister Natasha.

Ayesha Takia started her career at the age of thirteen, her first commercial was I am a complan Girl! It was with Shahid Kapoor. Then she did her work with Falguni Pathak in Meri chunar Udd Udd Jaye. She started with movie Taarzan: The Wonder Car in 2004 after this she did many movies like Christine, Dil Mange More, Socha na tha, Shadi No.1, Meri Biwi Ki shaadi, Shadi Se Pehle, Yun Hota Toh Kyun Hota Hai, Salaam-e-Ishq, Kya Love Story Hai, Chain Smoker, Indian Express, De Taali, cash, Dor, Blood Brothers, Wanted, Paathshaala, Mod and many more movies. She got 3 awards like Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for Movie Taarzan: The Wonder Car in 2005, then she got Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut for movie Super in 2006 and then she got Stardust Best Supporting Actress Award for Movie Dor in 2007.

Ayesha got married on 1 March 2009 with Farhan Azmi at the age of 23. She has a son. She declared her last name as Ayesha Takia Azmi. Ayesha is very active on social media like Twitter specially. She is a Wildlife Protection Supporter.
