But some rare men and women have this unique ability to make their dreams come true and the universe conspires with them to see that their dreams come true. And Shahrukh Khan is certainly one of them.

Shah Rukh was a young man from Delhi who had done theater and worked in serials like ‘Fauji' , ‘Dil Dariya' and ‘Circus' and with just a few rupees with him, he took a flight to Mumbai and did not have the money to buy his ticket to return home to Delhi.

He had decided that he would not go back until he had made a name for himself. He was lucky to find people who believed in his dream and he signed five films in a day and then no one and no power could stop him.

This was also a time when he saw many colorful dreams for himself and one of his most lofty dreams was to conquer the whole world starting with Mumbai.

He had a song in one of his early films, “Duplicate" which had lines like ‘ chand taare tood laaunga, saari duniya pe main chah jaunga, bas itna sa khwaab hai'.

It was a dream the character in the film gave expression to, but in many ways it was also an expression of the dreams of the actor who had come to fulfill his dream and ambition in the city of dream.

And he did have to wait for long to see his ambition and dream being fulfilled. He was accepted as ‘the badshah of Bollywood', he had built his dream palace which he called Mannat, he had his own production company in Red Chillies Entertainment, he made big films and meaningful films, he had a fleet of some of the best cars in the world, he had a collection of some of the most expensive wrist watches, he had thousands of people working for him in different capacity, he had established a VFX setup which helped him make the most modern films, he had his own loving family with Gauri as his wife and main support and Suhaana, Aryan and AbRam as his doting children and above all he had crores of admirer and fan in all most every corner of the world. What more could he hope for,dream of and wish for?

He had one unfulfilled wish and now it looks like even a badshah or shehshah will not be able to make that one wish come true.

It was one of the many award functions and Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeskar was to perform, she was to sing a song with Sudesh Bhosle and the young Shah Rukh had to speak about Lata and welcome her on stage.
