This week's Friday night special episode of the popular quiz-game Sony TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, will have dignified celeb-guests actress Hema Malini and director Ramesh Sippy revisiting Sholay .

While the exuberant B’day-girl Hema ( it’s her birthday next day on October 16) will mimic her husband Dharmendra and even Amjad Khan, show-host Bachchan-saab will share amazing anecdotes and even mirthfully mimic ‘Angrezo-ke-zamaane-ke-jailor’ Asrani and Gabbar Singh (Amjad).

All of this resulting in the ‘perfectionist’ director Ramesh Sippy reacting with hearty laughter.

In the promos released by Sony TV , Amitabh and Hema can be seen recalling their shooting days as they recite several hit lines from the film.

In one clip, Amitabh can be heard saying Gabbar Singh's now-iconic line, “Arre o Sambha! Kitne aadmi thhey?” Hema replied, “Jo darr gaya woh marr gaya’.

We also get a glimpse of what appears to be Hema Malini recreating bits of a scene.

“The sets of KBC will host a Sholay reunion, where interesting trivia and memories related to the film will be revisited.”according to Sony TV .

Meanwhile Dharmendra will also join the team via a video call and share some of his fond memories.

When Amitabh asked Ramesh, “Jai Veeru ka aapne kaise socha?” (How did you think about the characters Jai and Veeru?) The filmmaker replied, “Anand mein aapne bohot badhiya kaam kiya. Bombay To Goa mein aapne light role kiya (You did amazing work in Anand.

In Bombay to Goa, you did a lighter role). So, (I thought) he seems to be an actor who could do anything.”

A thrilled Bachchan asks Sippy with a joyous smile, “Mere baare mein aapko aisa laga (You felt this way about me)?” to which the filmmaker gave an affirmative response.

Even 46 years after the release of the film, Sholay remains an integral part of Indian's cinema consciousness.

With the gripping script and hard-hitting dialogues by the celebrated writer duo Salim–Javed and music by legendary RD Burman, Sholay had a talent pool, like never before, working on the film.

The stellar star cast included Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Amjad Khan, AK Hangal, Jagdeep, Leela Mishra and Asrani, among others.

Career-wise the dynamic Hema has apparently taken a back-seat from films and has been focusing mainly on her political career, her family back home and occasionally on her devotional ‘live’ classical dance-ballets.

However, she did made her comeback with movie Shimla Mirch. Which was also directed by Ramesh Sippy.

After an inordinate delay, ‘Shimla Mirch’ was finally released in 2020 and starred Rajkummar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh.

Workaholic super-actor Amitabh has Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt; Mayday directed by Ajay Devgn; and The Intern remake with Deepika Padukone, among other upcoming new assignments.
