Intriguing as it may sound, tall, smart,  handsome  Bollywood lead actor Sharad Kelkar who recently made his indelible mark as ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’screen-character  in  the historical Ajay Devgn-starrer mega movie ‘Tanhaji’, is not overtly fascinated with his famous crackling bass voice.  The same mesmeric voice with which Sharad had dubbed for Southside heartthrob Prabhas, in both the Hindi versions of the epic movie ‘Baahubali’ . At the recent trailer launch of his latest realistic period movie ‘Darbaan’ directed by National Award-winning Bipin Nadkarni , the modest Sharad justified himself. “ Honestly, I refuse to be obsessed or be in love with my voice. Yes, the audiences and media both seem impressed. Honestly, I feel that being in love with my own voice can hamper my versatile acting scope skills. In fact good actors should ideally not get trapped in their  regular voice if they wish to experiment in different roles. At times I try to use different variations of my voice,” explained Kelkar who is paired opposite the stunningly beautiful actress Flora Saini in ‘Darbaan’ ( inspired by a Rabindranath Tagore short story) which releases on April 2nd.   Cast in the title-role ‘Darbaan’ ( here it symbolically means ‘care-taker’ of a young child )  is this fabulous intense super-actor Sharib Hashmi,  besides Rasika Duggal, Harsh Chhaya and Suneeta Sengupta in supporting pivotal roles. While digital zone glamour-babe Flora bagged this de-glam lead role which also allowed her to showcase her  emotional intensity as a ‘mother’  when director Bipin, realized during an ad-film shoot that she had this “hurt in her eyes” , for Sharad it was a full career circle.  “ That’s because I had made my acting debut in this Marathi movie ‘Uttarayan’  way back in 2005, which was directed by the same Bipin, and the movie even won a National Award. So besides the amazing ‘Darbaan’ extended cameo role, it was also a sentimental re-union,’ smiles the suave ‘Agent Raghav’ TV show lead actor.  whose upcoming outing also includes the much-awaited Akshay Kumar starrer movie ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ . Where ‘experimental actor’ Sharad plays the ‘transgender’ title-role !     The catchy, pulsating chartbuster  ‘Darbaan’ music is composed by Amartya Bobo Rahut along with the additional song by Raajeev Bhalla and one of the prominent songs in the film is hummed by eminent Arijit Singh. The film is beautifully shot by Amalendu Chaudhary in the beautiful locales of Sikkim, Gujarat, Dhanbad, Wai and of course in Mumbai.
