Beti Sonakshi Sinha Vs. Dad Shatrughan---dancing to Govinda aale rey

Chaitanya  Padukone: Even as Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated all over India with enthusiastic musical fervor, one recalls various chartbuster Govinda festival dance situations from various Hindi movies.  Retro-songs that have stood the test of time are the evergreen Govinda Aala Re ( Bluff Master), ‘Machh Gaya Shor’( Khuddaar), Shor Mach Gaya Shor ( Badla ) and of course ‘Go Go Go Govinda (Oh My God ). Exciting to note there is a gen-next baap-beti muqaabla !  Iconic actor father Shatrughan Sinha has merrily danced in ‘Shor Mach Gaya Shor’ from ‘Badla’ ( 1973) with legendary dancer-actor Bhagwaan Dada as his co-dancer.

Cut to 2012 and agile star-beti Sonakshi Sinha had gracefully cavorted to ‘Go Go Go Govinda in the Akshay Kumar-Paresh Rawal  starrer ‘Oh My God’  . If dad Shatru danced with gay abandon  with legendary dancer-actor Bhagwaan Dada ( of ‘Albela fame) as his co-dancer, then beti Sonakshi has perfectly matched steps with acclaimed dance-guru Prabhu Deva in her  foot-tapping number’. Recalls, Shatru-saab, “The rhythmic flow of my Govinda song is so infectious that I really enjoyed swaying to that outdoor song from ‘Badla’.”   Sonakshi is modesty personified when complimented for her sensational dance moves in her trending ‘Govinda’ song from ‘OMG’.

Reacts the ‘Dabangg’ girl, “ "Honestly I never went for workshops in  acting or dancing classes. Everybody who is making their debut today are trained and  well prepared. But I have learnt everything on the sets,"  shares Sonakshi whose bold, bohemian yet riveting role as young scientist ‘Eka Gandhi’  in  mega-hit ‘Mission Mangal’ has been highly appreciated
