Bollywood actress, model and Miss India pageant winner Sonu Walia was born on February 19, 1964, in a Punjabi family in Delhi. Sonu got a degree in Psychology, as well as being a student of Journalism. Sonu got married to NRI Surya Prakash and settled down in his house.

After the death of Surya Prakash, she married NRI film producer Pratap Singh for the second time and they also have a daughter. Now she lives in the US, although sometimes she has to come to India.

After completing her studies, she ventured into the field of modeling. Here he also started getting success soon and Sonu, who started his career with modeling, acted in more than 30 films on sight. In such a situation, she participated in the Miss India competition to become more successful and in 1985 she managed to win the title of Miss India.

On winning the contest she was crowned by actress Juhi Chawla, who had previously been Miss India. After successful modeling and winning the title of Miss India, the path of Bollywood also opened for Sonu. He made his film debut in 1988 with 'Khoon Bhari Maang'.
