Lalita Pawar, Born as Amba Laxman Rao Sagun On 18 April 1916 in Yola (Nashik) Father was A Rich Cotton Merchant, was prolific, famous character actress, appeared in 700 films & holds Guinness World Record of Longest Acting Career of 70 years.
Pawar won Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for Anari & was in Hit Films- Anari, Shri 420, Mr & Mrs 55 & Role of Manthara In Serial Ramayan.
In Film Jung-E-Azadi, actor Master Bhagwan Being a new actor, accidentally slapped her very hard, which resulted in facial paralysis & burst left eye vein & she was left with defective left eye; thus she had to switch to character roles, which won her much Fame. She was known for playing wicked mothers-in-law.
Her 1st marriage was to Ganpatrao Pawar, which went sour after his affair with her sister. She married producer Rajprakash Gupta She was honoured by Govt of India as 1st Lady of Indian cinema in 1961 ?Dr.Harish Bhalla?
