True talent is like wine. It grows better, tastier and more intoxicating with time. This truth also applies to all artists who have to depend on their talent if they have to make a name and survive for long. It is a truth that has been proved time and again down the years, especially in films - ALI PETER JOHN

The latest talent to prove that talent takes time but it survives, thrives and overcomes in the course of time is an actress called Kriti Sanon who I had not taken very seriously till people called me to inform me about her performance in 'Mimi'.

I had seen her some of her early films like 'Bareilly ki barfi', 'luka chuppi' , 'Heropanti' and 'Raabta' but they had not made a strong impact on me and I believed that she was one of the touch , reveal and go kind of young actress and losing hope for her.

But when my friends prevailed on me to see her film called 'Mimi' on Netflix, I managed to see most of her important scenes in Mimi and she was a revolution to me.

I couldn't believe that this Kriti in Mimi was the same Kriti in the earlier films I had mentioned about.

She was not just the glamour girl or the piece of chocolate in the film, but she was the life of the film.

Mimi is the story of a young girl from a faraway place who wants to reach Mumbai and grab the sky of Hindi films , but she doesn't have the financial resources to make that big trip to Mumbai.

It is at this time of her life that an American couple who doesn't have a child reaches her village looking for a surrogate mother.

The girl in Mimi is confused at first, but on second and third thoughts she realises that this was an opportunity for her to make money.

The American couple asks her to be the mother of their surrogate child. And a deal is struck between Mimi and the couple for twenty lakhs of rupees.

Mimi goes through their procedure to have the child through IVF. But, this is only the beginning of the tests and trials that she has to go through.

The scenes that follow give Kriti Sanon a chance to prove her talent and it is now an unanimous decision that Hindi films has found one more young actress who it can depend on when it comes to performances that need the guts to bring the characters they play to life.

I haven't seen most of her films because I have no hope of finding talent in today's actors or actresses, but with this one performance, Kriti Sanon has taken her place as one of the actresses of this decade who if she continues to play such challenging roles can be one of the actresses who will be marked out as an actress who made an impact to the decade and hopefully will follow with other such performances and not just become a plastic or paper doll in a showcase.

I am told that she has now signed a big film with Prabhas and Saif Ali khan and there is news that she may even give a film in hollywood in the next two years and so.

If all things go well for Kriti, and if she will not take any wrong steps and not get mired in any kind of controversies, she may reach a place which she would not have even imagined when she had started her career.
