Birth Anniversary: Talat Mahmood made the world crazy with his ghazals

Talat Mehmood, the classy singer and actor, was born on 24 February in Lucknow. Talat learned classical music under Pt. Bhat at Marris Music College, now Bhatkhande College, Lucknow. Talat started singing on Akashvani at the age of 16, no one could have captured the pain of romance better than Talat - The Man with Silken Voice.

If the romantic longing of the human heart could be given audible form, it would be Talat's voice to feel how Talat's voice is whispering the window to pain and pine Shelley's lines - 'The pleasure that is in sorrow is sweeter than 'Pleasure of happiness' is an apt summary of Talat's singing.
