Farah Khan Kunder is an Indian film director, choreographer, dancer, writer, producer, and actress who works primarily in Hindi cinema. She has choreographed over 100 songs in over 80 films and has received seven Filmfare Awards, including a National Film Award.

Farah Khan was born on January 9, 1965. Her father, Kamran Khan, was a stuntman turned filmmaker. Her mother, Menaka Irani, is the sister of famous child actors Honey Irani and Daisy Irani. Thus, Farah is a cousin of well-known film industry figures Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar.

She has a brother, Sajid Khan, who is a comedian, actor, and film director. Farah Khan married Shirish Kunder, the editor of Main Hoon Na, on 9 December 2004. They later worked together in films such as Jaan-E-Mann (2006), Om Shanti Om (2007), and Tees Maar Khan (2010). In 2008, Farah Khan gave birth to triplets—a son and two daughters—through IVF.
Career
Farah Khan was studying sociology at St. Xavier's College, Bombay, when Michael Jackson's famous music video "Thriller" was released. According to Farah, the song so inspired her that she pursued dance as a career, even though she had never danced professionally before. She taught herself to dance and formed her own dance group. When choreographerSaroj Khan left the film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), Farah Khan got the opportunity. She subsequently choreographed many memorable and iconic dance numbers.

She met Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of the film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1994), and from then on, the two began a close friendship and professional partnership. Farah Khan has received seven Filmfare Awards for Best Choreography. In 2013, she also choreographed the IPL 's official anthem, "Jumping Jhapak." Television and production career
Farah Khan hosted the celebrity chat show Tere Mere Beech Mein and judged several reality shows, such as Indian Idol (seasons 1 and 2), Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar, Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, and Dance India Dance Li'l Masters. She also judged the show Just Dance along with Hrithik Roshan and Vaibhavi Merchant. In 2015, Farah Khan hosted Bigg Boss Halla Bol (a spin-off of Bigg Boss season 8), replacing Salman Khan.
