Ibrahim Ali Khan Pataudi (born 5 March 2001) is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films. He is the son of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. Ibrahim made his acting debut as a child actor in the film Tashan (2008), playing the younger version of his father's character. As an adult, he played his first lead role in the 2025 Netflix romantic comedy Nadaaniyan, which was not well received by critics.

Early life and family background

Ibrahim Ali Khan was born on March 5, 2001, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Both his parents are well-known actors in the Hindi film industry. He is of Pashtun, Assamese, and Bengali descent on his father's side, while on his mother's side, he is of Punjabi descent.

Ibrahim comes from a prominent film and royal family. He is the grandson of former Indian cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore . He is also related to the Nawabi family of the Pataudi princely state.

Ibrahim has an elder sister, Sara Ali Khan , who is a Bollywood actress. His father is from a second marriage to Kareena Kapoor Khan , with whom he has two half-brothers. He completed his schooling at Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai. He then pursued a filmmaking course at the New York Film Academy.

He was fond of acting since childhood

Ibrahim was interested in acting from a young age. At the age of seven, he played a cameo role of his father in the film Tashan . However, the film was not a box office success, leaving him quite disappointed.

Later in 2023, Ibrahim worked as an assistant director with director Karan Johar on the film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani . His sister Sara Ali Khan also made a special appearance in the film.

Film career

In 2025, Ibrahim Ali Khan made his acting debut with the film Nadaniyaan , starring alongside actress Khushi Kapoor . In the film, he played Arjun Mehta, a student who is paid by his wealthy classmate to pose as her boyfriend. However, the film and Ibrahim's performance were not well received by critics.

Ibrahim next appeared in the film Sarzameen , co-starring actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and actress Kajol . The thriller, produced by Karan Johar and released on JioHotstar, saw him play Harman Menon, the son of an army officer who later joins a militant group. However, his performance received mixed reviews from critics.

Ibrahim Ali Khan will soon be seen in the sports drama film "Diller." The film is being directed byKunal Deshmukh and produced by Dinesh Vijan . Fans are hopeful that Ibrahim will be able to win over audiences with his acting in the future.
