Neil Nitin Mukesh Chand Mathur is an Indian actor and producer, known for his work in Hindi films. He is the son of renowned singer Nitin Mukesh and the grandson of legendary singer Mukesh.
He began his career as a child actor in the films "Vijay" (1988) and "Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharni" (1989). He then made a strong entry into Bollywood as a lead actor, playing the title role in "Johnny Gaddaar" (2007). Subsequently, Neil Nitin Mukesh played significant roles in films such as "New York" (2009), "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" (2015), "Golmaal Again" (2017), and "Saaho" (2019). Neil was born on January 15, 1982, in Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra, India. He is the son of singer Nitin Mukesh and the grandson of legendary singer Mukesh. His grandmother was a Gujarati Shrimali Brahmin, while his grandfather belonged to the Mathur Kayastha community from Delhi.

He was named by legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar after the famous American astronaut Neil Armstrong. As a child, Neil played the childhood characters of Rishi Kapoor and Govinda in the films Vijay (1988) and Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharni (1989), respectively.
Neil earned a bachelor's degree in commerce from H.R. College in Mumbai. He did this at his father's behest, but later decided to pursue acting as a career, despite coming from a family of singers.

In an interview with The Times of India, Neil said, "Singing is my hobby, but acting is my passion. It's the same passion my grandfather had. While my father took up singing to carry forward his legacy, I've fulfilled his other dream. I'm living his dream." To pursue a career in acting, Neil trained at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute for four months and also received acting lessons from actor Anupam Kher.
