Moushumi Chatterjee is from an army family.

Moushumi Chatterjee was born on 26 April 1948 in Kolkata. Moushumi's real name is Indira Chatterjee. Moushumi's parents were from a Bengali family. Her father was serving in the Indian Army and her grandfather was a judge.

Bengali film director Tarun Majumdar changed his name to Moushumi. The younger Moushumi entered films, the sooner she got married. Moushumi's first Bengali film 'Balika Badhu' in 16 years proved to be a super hit.

Became a mother at the age of 18

He did his first Hindi film 'Anurag' in the year 1972. Moushumi Chatterjee married producer Jayant Mukherjee at a very young age. After which she became a mother at the age of 18. Today she has two daughters named Megha and Payal. Moushumi entered the Bollywood industry after marriage.

Moushumi has never given more space to her film life than her real life, perhaps this is the reason why she did not concentrate on making a career like other actresses, but after leaving her house, she concentrated on her film career.

The accident happened during pregnancy

During an interview, Moushumi also told that during the shooting of the film Roti Kapda Aur Makaan (1974), I was pregnant and I had to play the character of rape survivor Tulsi. There was a lot of difficulty during its shoot. She also said that an accident had happened to her due to which I was very scared.

According to Moushumi, a lot of flour fell on her during the film shoot. Seeing her condition Moushumi Chatterjee started crying. According to Moushumi, 'I was pregnant at that time and started bleeding after falling. I was immediately taken to the hospital. I was lucky that I did not lose the child.

Moushumi was a demanding actress

Moushumi worked with many big actors in her film career like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Khanna, and Sanjeev Kumar. After working with these actors, Moushumi became a very demanding actress in Bollywood.

Moushumi has done films like 'Anurag', 'Roti Kapda Aur Makaan', 'Angoor', 'Manzil' and 'Anand Ashram'. Moushumi emerged as a lead actress in Bollywood and broke everyone's misconception that women cannot be successful as actresses in films after marriage.

Joined BJP on 2 January 2019
