Satish Shah: King of Comedy turns 73

On June 25, Bollywood's veteran comedy actor Satish Shah is celebrating his 73rd birthday. In the '90s, Satish Shah made the audience laugh a lot with his comedy timing and unmatched acting. His characters in films like 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron', 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai', 'Main Hoon Na', 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na', 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', and 'Kal Ho Na Ho' are still very much liked by the people.

Satish started his acting career in 1978

Satish Shah was born in a Gujarati family. He graduated from St. Xavier's College in Mumbai and then studied acting at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. After FTII, Satish Shah started working in theater. He started his film career in 1978 with the film 'Ajeeb Dastaan'.

Has worked in more than 250 films

The 1983 film 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron' brought him recognition. He has worked in hit films like 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron', 'Veerana', 'Hatim Tai', 'Jungle Love', 'Purani Haveli', 'Bhootnath', 'Main Hoon Na', 'Chalte Chalte', 'Jaan Pehchaan', 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', 'Kal Ho Na Ho', 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na', 'Hum Saath Saath Hain', 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge', 'Ishq Vishk', 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun', 'Hero No. 1', 'Amrit', 'Narasimha', 'Purana Mandir', 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', and 'Ramaiya Vastavaiya'. In his acting career, Satish has worked in more than 250 films, most of which have been comedy films and his characters still make the audience roll with laughter.

Satish Shah has also done many popular TV shows in the 90s, including 'Filmi Chakkar', 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai', and 'All the Best'. Satish Shah has received many awards and honors for his acting, including Filmfare Awards, IIFA Awards, and Star Screen Awards.
