We have often heard of the popular Hindi idiom-phrase –Din mein taare nazar aayenge’!  That’s exactly what happened  at an event convened at 11am ( pre-noon) at PVR Icon Theatre.  At a ‘live’ preview event brilliantly  anchored by Shweta Patil, a galaxy of  popular ‘Hott’ stunning  female stars  like Urvashi Dholakia,   Aarti Nagpal,  Shweta Khanduri, Gazal Sood, and the macho male stars Nasir Khan, Rakesh Paul and Vikas Verma  seemed excited and euphoric being part of  the ensemble cast of this upcoming OTT  ‘Watcho- Exclusives’,  maverick bold yet beautiful show titled ‘Avaidh’  (which means illicit or illegal ) which will start streaming today Friday 13^th January . On the eve of festival  Makar Sankranti ( also the brief kite-flying season).

Co-produced by Suresh Thomas (of ‘Crescendo Films’) and Mohit Srivatava, the eight-stories mature-audience OTT show directed by talented Tarun Chopra has illicit extramarital flings-affairs, but shot aesthetically.  “Our unique show Avaidh ( tag-line –Jab Haddein Paar Ho Jaayein’ )  is definitely an engaging, intriguing OTT show for adults and all adult-actors but there is zero vulgarity and no explicit adult-content. Not just established star-celeb-actors, we also have talented  wonderful photogenic actors like  Anushri Shrivastava, Anurag Mishra,  Rohit Agrawal, Jasneet Kaur Kant, Preeti Sood, Priyanka Sood etc. Our  hauntingly seductive theme vocals are scored by the multi-talented composer-singer-lyricist Sheetal Gupta. We are confident that OTT viewers will have a blast as they enjoy our classy, colorful content in each of the eight diverse stories of ‘Avaidh’,” enthuses director Tarun Chopra whose innovative, creative efforts were well-appreciated by  Simarjot Kaur—Head of  Watcho-Exclusives. 

An amazing coincidence which celeb-star Nasir Khan shared was that director Tarun Chopra and he have an incredible  yesteryear sentimental family connection. Jogging into a flash-back, Nasir-bhai revealed. “ Way back in the late ‘50s , my legendary actor-father Johnny Walker  acted in Tarun’s film-maker father  Madan Chopra’s movie also titled ‘Johnny Walker’ and they were very close friends. Now, after over six decades, with the next generation, Tarun and  I are working together in ‘Avaidh’,”  disclosed Nasir with emotional pride.

Looking slim-trim and refreshingly rejuvenated, the outspoken yet exuberant Urvashi Dholakia confides that “she is not a fitness-freak”.  Continues Urvashi ( of ‘Naagin-6’ TV show fame)  who makes her dhamaaka entry into the OTT zone with this Watcho show ( with co-star Nasir Khan). “ Honestly, I eat almost everything,  but in proportion . I have not been into doing strenuous work-outs, all my life. Guess nature has been kind to me,” smiles Urvashi who is still remembered for her iconic  ‘Komolika’  negative shades TV character.  Speaking about her grey-shades role in ‘Avaidh’ in one of the anthology stories, she says, “ It is a hatke riveting lead role of a go-getter corporate boss with an unexpected reverse twist of the sensational ‘Me Too’ concept.There is the theme of ‘illicit flings’, which is common to all the eight stories  but it is shot decently by director Tarun Chopra with no vulgarity and can be watched together by adults.  After ‘Naagin’ , I would love to do complex, multi-layered roles of strong, vulnerable yet badass female major role characters in movies, TV shows and OTT zone, ” shares bold ’n beautiful Urvashi.

Co-producer Suresh Thomas and director Tarun Chopra appear confident about the content of his anthology eight-stories show. “It is a decent yet gripping entertainer that blends together temptation, sexual allure, flings-affairs, betrayal involving innocent characters mostly climaxing towards a shock-value tragic situation.  . Our subtle message to the OTT audiences in each story is that ‘do-not-cross-the-delicate-line and get entangled into the web of  unforeseen dangerous situations . Do not ruin your own life and that of  other families as well.
