Led by Dr Shrikant Bhasi, Carnival Cinemas, one of the fastest growing and leading multiplex chains, today announced their expansion plans. "Thanks to the bold step by the current government, we are looking out to open at least 30 screens in J&K and 5 screens in Ladakh," said Mr PV SunilMD, Carnival Cinemas.

With its rapid expansion across India, Carnival Cinemas continues to be India’s fastest growing multiplex chain and have now the distinct honor of becoming the first ever cinema group to reach a remarkable milestone of being present in 111 cities across India. Carnival Cinemas is now spread across 20 states with over 150 properties and 450 plus screens in the country with lavish interiors, luxurious seating arrangements, a wide selection of F&B and the best-in-class services at affordable prices. Carnival Cinemas entertains over 50 million patrons annually and has a total seating capacity of over 1,25,000. After foraying into the overseas market with the commencement of operations in 6 screens in Singapore last year, Carnival has strengthened its international presence with the acquisition of Qatar based Novo Cinemas’ 104 screens at 10 locations in UAE and Bahrain recently and 50 more screens will be added to them soon.

In India, its footprints are present in prominent states like Maharashtra, Delhi NCR, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Goa and Himachal Pradesh.

In sync with the current growth plans, Carnival Cinemas has signed MoUs with Governments of Jharkhand and Odisha in order to set up 75 theatres-cum-recreation zones and 150 screens in the respective states. This will enable the Group’s vision of holding 1000 screens by 2020 in India, each one providing a state-of-the-art movie experience and premium service standard.
