Celebrating 60 Glorious Years One Man One Legend One Name Kamal Haasan

Indian Cinema is a hundred and six years old and here is one man, whose life and career marks more than half of that staggering number. Sixty glorious years in Indian cinema, in a life span of sixty-five is an unmatched, unique and unequivocal success standard to hold for an actor who is a polymath in the world of cinema and social life.

Padmabhushan Kamal Haasan’s name stands for prodigious talent and hard work in equal measure. He is the golden bench mark of ‘quality’ for the present and future generations of actors, writers, producers and technical teams in the film fraternity. A man who is a living example of how passion for one’s art can transform an icon into a legend.

Kamal Haasan’s contribution to Indian cinema is a stand-alone stamp in the hallmark of fame, because his is an inimitable journey - he is perhaps the sole Indian movie star to have acted in more than one language as a leading man and who has seen box-office success in those outings. When Kamal Haasan ventured into film production, an entire industry grew, as he brought in a new wave of filmmaking talent, technology and trademark films which stand the test of time.

7th November 2019

Marks the birthday of Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan. It also happens to be his father, freedom fighter and lawyer, Shri.D.Srinivasan’s death anniversary. Mr. Kamal Haasan will unveil the statue of his father in his hometown, Paramakudi along with his family and friends between 1030am and 11am. The event will also be attended by Makkal Needhi Maiam’s party officials and dignitaries, in the presence of his beloved party members, fans,and media.

8th November 2019

Mr. Kamal Haasan will unveil the statue of his mentor, writer and director Shri. K. Balachandar at the new office premises of Raajkamal Films International (No. 218, RKFI, T.T.K Road, Alwarpet, Chennai - 18) by 930am. The event will be attended by Shri K Balachandar’s family and key members of the film industry and media.

Special screening of ‘Hey Ram’ - an experiment with truth by Kamal Haasan at 330pm, Sathyam Cinemas, Royapettah. An interaction with Kamal Haasan, in the presence of industry stalwarts and media will follow the screening. This event is to commemorate 150 years of Gandhi and a personal note from Kamal Haasan will he shared at the venue with the special invitees.

UNGAL NAAN

A grand musical tribute by maestro Ilayaraja comprising of singers like SPB and Kamal Haasan, where the musical legend himself opens the evening which celebrates Kamal Haasan - Ungal Naan - 60 glorious years. The event will have the illustrious and gracious presence of Superstar Shri. Rajinikanth who shares a forty four year old friendship with Shri. Kamal Haasan. It will be a star studded gathering of superstars from Indian cinema, with powerhouse performances and illustrious, poignant and noteworthy moments and memories shared on stage. We look forward to this three-day event and trust that it will be a grand success, due to the love and support of the crores of Ulaga Nayagan fans and his family, which now includes us, the people of Thamizh Nadu.
