Charrul Malik: When we think more about money, we become commercial, and get stressed because we've very high expectations

Everyone is complaining about the shortage of time these days. The stress level has also increased among people in general. Many are of the opinion that our fast lifestyle and technological development are to be blamed. Not to forget most of us are glued to our phones all the time. Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai actress Charrul Malik explains her point of view.“It feels like a lame excuse to me, and I believe that it's your task to make time for things that are crucial for you. It's our job to manage our work in such a way that it doesn't lead to further stress. People should stop grumbling about the stress they are going through due to poor time management. Rather than that we should focus on doing their work and feeling gratitude for whatever we are capable of doing. It's all up to us on how we take this matter. At last I would like to say that we should be attentive towards the children and help them cope up with it,” she adds.
Charrul opines that people in our society are nowadays wasting their time by scrolling. She feels they need to set a routine for themselves so that they do not waste their precious time and focus on important things.

 

“In this entertainment industry, there is a lot of pressure to portray oneself positively, appear happy, and present oneself as happening as possible in the public domain. And, I think it's happening everywhere; it's happening in all industries. Nowadays, people are blindly following things. Work is also given based on the same criteria. How many followers do you have on Instagram? How much viewership do you have in your sector? There are so many extra things that are putting unnecessary pressure on everyone. People judge your work based on your social media reach... advertisers also, the clothes of designers, the designers you tag, makeup—it's all in collaboration, and you have many collaborations going on. That's also a reason why this business has become such a big thing now. It's not just social media; I think it's more of a commercial media now.  Everything has become commercialized, and we've started to view everything from a commercial angle. I think it's one of the biggest concerns, it's alarming because everything is being weighed upon in terms of money and opportunities. So, I think this mindset is harming us. You know it's being built on a base. It's affecting everything; it's affecting our relationships with our family, friends, everywhere it's become money and money. Now when we think more about money, we become more commercial, and that's when we get stressed because we have very high expectations. You know, less expectation, less stress, more expectation, more stress. That's what I feel, I will say that it's up to us to remain stress-free, and not get confused or distracted, and be on track,” she says.
