In 2014, Jon Favreau’s Carl Casper won us and the culinary enthusiasts over with the way he cooked carne asada, a Latin American beef delicacy, in the film Chef. Favreau’s film was all about restaurants and food trucks and he worked accurately to portray the life of an old-school chef in the world of social media.
In the trailer of Raja Menon’s official Bollywood adaptation of the Hollywood flick, Saif Ali Khan, who plays a Michelin star chef, can also be seen showcasing his cooking skills, but the film doesn’t seem to be as much about food. “Chef is not a food film, but a relationship film with a lot of food,” Menon had said in an interview recently.
With Saif going off the beaten path and taking up a genre which has hardly been explored in the Indian film industry, will Chef make an impact? Maanvi Kumar from Team Bollyy is at the first day first show of the film to find out.
Stay tuned with us for the updates.

Furious, egoistic & filled with angst—#SaifAliKhan's Roshan Kalra brings what we call a mid life crisis to life. #Chef

The visuals are appealing and supported by a good background score. This film will make you feel warm inside #Chef @RajaMenon

@raghudixit & @AmaalMallik have created some really good music. You can't help but tap your feet along. #Chef #FDFS

Whoa! @milindrunning just made the girls' hearts stop. What an appearance. He was the right choice for the boyfriend. #Chef #FDFS

Why is #SaifAliKhan only making one single dish throughout the film? He's a chef, shouldn't we have some variety! #Chef #FDFS

#Chef has been delicious so far, but there's something missing. Let's see if the film can make up in the second half. #intervaltime

The second half begins with Saif showcasing his culinary skills. The makers might have saved the best for the last. #Chef #FDFS

A praiseworthy supporting cast but we wish Padmapriya Janakiraman's character was developed better. #Chef #FDFS @RajaMenon

Swar Kamble has made a noteworthy debut as the shy, awkward teenage son of a workaholic father. #Chef #FDFS
— Bollyy (@Bollyydotcom) October 6, 2017
The film has just lost its pace now. It seems to be dragging. #Chef #FDFS
— Bollyy (@Bollyydotcom) October 6, 2017
And that #DilChahtaHai reference. Nostalgia hits us hard. #Chef #FDFS
— Bollyy (@Bollyydotcom) October 6, 2017
What's a Bollywood film without emotional drama and a cliched happy ending? #Chef is a feel good film but could've done with a better end.
