Chief Minister Eknath Shinde releases the motion poster of Maharashtra Shahir  the biopic about Shahir Sable ,slated for 

 release on April 28

 

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday released the motion poster of the soon to be released Marathi film 'Maharashtra Shahir'. Shinde said the biopic on the Shahir Sable was a need of the hour and will prove a significant role in documentation of state history and culture. He wished the film great success. Director of the film Kedar Shinde, actor Ankush Chaudhari, producers Sanjay Chhabria, producer Bela Shinde and Kalyan MP Shrikant Shinde were also present for the unveiling event held at the official bungalow of chief minister.

Shahir Sable was a renowned playwright, poet, singer, performer. The biopic based on his life is set to release on April 28, 2023. Since its unveiling, the poster is getting an overwhelming response from the film fraternity.

The poster has the backdrop of the song, ‘Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha…’ first performed by Shahir Sable and recently declared Maharashtra’s official state song. The raised fists in the background signify the protagonist’s involvement in various sociopolitical movements and his call for awareness. Ankush Chaudhari in the titular role can be seen standing atop a giant fist, thematically reinforcing the Shahir’s image in the minds of his followers.

Produced by Sanjay Chhabria of Everest Entertainment and Bela Kedar Shinde of Kedar Shinde Productions, the film will hit the screens across the state on April 28, 2023. The film is written by the senior theatre personality Pratima Kulkarni, while the music is composed by the legendary duo Ajay - Atul. The film will be part of Shahir Sable’s centenary year celebrations that started in September last year. The anticipation already runs high about the film’s forthcoming release, and the new poster has fed into the buzz. The associated cast has already raised the bar of excitement amongst the film enthusiasts. The poster has added to this growing vibe.

The state government recently accorded the state song status to Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha… sung by Shahir decades ago. It is considered to be a tribute to the great artist.

While speaking about the release of the poster, director Kedar Shinde said, “Shahir Sable is known as the towering voice of Maharashtra. His illustrious life will be showcased in his biopic.”

“We are portraying folk music, folk drama, and folk art in the film as Shahir was known for his contribution to all these genres. The poster released today is just a glimpse of what’s to come.” Said Sanjay Chhabria, Producer of Everest Entertainment.
