I was particularly thrilled to be invited especially after being honoured for Jimmy Jimmy (my debut playback song ) which has grown enormously in fame globally even after 40 yrs! What touched me was that I was personally greeted by the heart-warming words by the Consul General Hon’ble Mr Kong who exclaimed , ‘You are the STAR of today’s event ! and won my heart once again. After Jimmy Jimmy was conferred and awarded the best song of the decade in the past with the Golden Peacock award by China ! The atmosphere was truly multicultural. The Indian group dances and performances on level two of Taj Lands End hotel, set to a backdrop of the jaw -dropping beauty of the most spectacular divine twilight seen from the balcony of the Taj Lands End. The Indian folk and cultural dances performances created a mesmerizing atmosphere I was also deeply touched by the gesture by the Chinese Consulate officials taking a special audio-visual bytes of mine which would be telecast on the actual National Day on Chinese TV. The sporting friendly nature of the Hon’ble CG when I requested him to join me on the stage to sing along the song Jimmy Jimmy added 'sentimental moments' to the grand evening. China had honoured me in the past with the Golden Peacock award for Jimmy Jimmy ..It was a wonderful opportunity for me to reciprocate the honour as well, with my evergreen chartbuster song ‘live’ performance,” smiled Parvati Khan.
