Certain shows enable you to leave a lasting impact on the audience and Samiksha Jaiswal, who has featured in Zindagi Ki Mehek and Bahu Begum, has pinned her hopes on Yash Patnaik’s investigative police drama, Control Room - Jyothi Venkatesh
Talking about what prompted her to take up the show, she says, “I was thrilled to realise that it had some logic. The show focuses on investigations to solve crime cases and the title aptly signifies it.
So, the concept was the primary reason that I agreed to come on board. TV is predominantly about typical daily soaps and family dramas but I wanted to do something different. In that sense, Control Room is a perfect show for me at this stage in my career.”
Describing her character, she says, “My character specializes in body language. It’s an important and useful skill set. Being able to read body languages helps the team to avert potentially deadly situations and gives police officers an edge to determine whether the suspect is lying.”
All actors associated with the show have done a lot of prep before they commence the shoot. The makers have left no stone unturned to have a rather realistic approach while making it.
Samiksha, who plays ACP Sugandha, agrees, “That’s true. Their hard work reflects. I have always been drawn towards investigative movies or series as a viewer and I believe that it helped me understand my character better and gave me a perspective on how to develop it.
Apart from playing a character different from my previous one, it was also a case of becoming a part of a cop show. That was surely a dealmaker for me.”
She is also grateful to the makers for entrusting her with the responsibility of playing the protagonist in Control Room.
“I am happy that I got a chance to work with Yash Patnaik sir in his dream project. I am grateful to him for believing in me to pull off the character of the female lead in the show. It is a big deal for any actor – the belief of the maker in you.”
