Till corona struck in early 2020 , it seemed like only hunger , thirst , clothing and shelter were the only requirements of today's human beings , but once corona locked down almost everything in the world , human beings came to realise that entertainment was also an essential part of life , especially film entertainment - Ali Peter John

There were no films shown in theatres , multiplexes and any other source of showing films of any kind for mory than two years and people had to either depend on OTT platforms , mobiles and TV screens to fulfill their needs for entertainment and they kept waiting for the curse of corona to leave and cinemas to open again.

And it took time for their prayers to be heard , but their prayers were ultimately heard when theateres slowly opened with restrictions and have now almost opened fully , and the audiance is back to the theateres and all those films which were stopped at the barriers created by corona are back in theateres like a flood that was waiting eagerly and anxiously for their time to come .

The first film which faced the trial at the box office were the Akshay Kumar starrer "Sooryavanshi" which opened to bumper houses, but couldn't sustain its running power which shocked the industry.

It was followed by 83 which was expected to break many boundaries, but which again failed to live up to the expectations which has raised , but it was saved by the tax exemption it received from some non BJP states .

But the real shot in the arm came with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Gangubai Khatiawaadi " which made Alia Bhatt a super star .

But the release of a string of films from the South like "Pushpa The Rise" , "RRR" and the recently KGF Chapter 1 and 2 not only shattered all box office records , but made global stars of Allu Arjun , Jr NTR , Ramcharan and Yash.

The Hindi stars in these films like Alia , Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt also benefited from the success of these films made in the South and they praised the way films were made in the South where the script was the only thing that mattered.

These days , some of the biggest Hindi stars are showing interest in working in films made in the South where the content is also good and the jingling of money is doubly good ....

A new season of endless releases of Hindi films has now began with some big films , some medium , some action films , some comic films and some out and out entertainment films .

All the big stars who were busy before the pandemic are going to be busy even during 2022 . Strangely , Amitabh Bachchan who was the busiest star in 1980 is still the busiest star in 2022 with films like "Runway 34' , "Ankhen 2" , "Brahmastra" which has been made in three parts and other films which are either in the planning stages or the making stages , he will be working with all kinds of directors of all ages and may keep working well past the 80 years he had hoped to work.

Of all the three Khans , Aamir Khan who has been making Lal Singh Chadda for more than five years has just wrapped up the shoot even though the shooting had to be stopped due to the pandemic and due to his personal problems.

He and his director Advait Chandan is racing with time to release the film on August 11 2022 . He has not made any plans about making his next film , but he has shown interest in the director of Jhund , Nagraj Manjule , but with Aamir , the perfectionist, you can never say.

And Sallu Bhai has made it clear that he will have no Eid release this year and he has given the Eid dates to Ajay Devgn for the release of his film "Runway 34".

He however has a complete film in ' Tiger 3" with Katrina Kaif and also has Kabhi Eid Kabhi Deewaali" which he is now said to have taken over from Sajid Nadiadwala

If there is one superstar who is still following his own system and speed , it is Hrithik Roshan who still has just two films on hand , "Vedha Krishna " and "Fighter" , the first film he is doing with Deepika Padukone .

Akshay has had a bad time with Sooryavanshi and Bachchan Pandey and desperately needs a hit and has films like "Ram Sethu" in which he has the scope prove his "Ramgiri" or "bhaktgiri"

Ajay Devgn is the other hero who will be having his herogiri intact with all the big films he had on hand and some of the films are extremely prestigious films which could be released in 2022 .

But , if there is one superstar who will not have a single release all through 2022 and yet be talked about all through the year , it will undoubtedly be Badshah Khan . He has already completed a major part of YRf's? ,"Pathaan" which is even scheduled to be released on January 23 2023 .

He will also soon complete Atlee's "Lion" and then start shooting for Raj Kumar Hirani's new film co-starring Tappssi Paannu and is to be shot in Punjab and in Budapest and London and he is already in talks with other major filmmakers.

After all he has to make up for his time lost and even for the little reputation some people believed he would lose.

Of all the leading ladies , Alia Bhatt ( Kapoor) has taken the world and the business by surprise and she is so serious about her newly found status as a star that she has even cut down on the days of her honeymoon to report for the shooting of her first Hollywood film with the great Hollywood star Gal Caldot and will then return to complete all her other films before she decides what to do about her future at this stage were she is only 29 .

Deepika Padukone who was in Alia's position till Gangubai will now have to fight back to stand tall again . And she has big films like " Pathaan " , "Fighter" and couple of other big films which can inspire her to stage a comeback.

The same can be said about Katrina Kaif . In the good old days , the industry used to forget actresses who got married in the prime of their career . It has to be seen what the future holds for actresses like Kareena Kapoor , Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone.

Will they have to make way for the new girls from the South like Pooja Hegde , Nayanthara and other new girls who are still very young , very talented and very determined to rule the future of cinema in India .
