DADDY'S RELEASE PUSHED, HEADS TOWARDS A BIG CLASH

Arjun Rampal's upcoming film Daddy, which is based on the life and times of Mumbai-based politician-turned-gangster Arun Gawli which was to hit the screens on 21 July 2017 has been rescheduled. The makers of the film decided to postpone the release of the after Gawli's daughter Geeta made a special request. The film will now release on 8 September 2017.

Arun Gawli joined politics in the 1980s but according to reports, continued to be a part of criminal activities under the charade of a politician from Central Mumbai's Dagdi Chawl. Although his criminal activities remained undetected for a long time, In 2012, Mumbai Police found him guilty of the murder of Shiv-Sena leader Kamlakar Jamsandekar. Arun's daughter Geeta made this special request of postponing the release because Gawli will be released on parole in September and she wants him to be present for the 'auspicious event'.

However, the most interesting catch in the story is that this change in release date means Daddy will now be clashing with Saif Ali Khan's Kaalakaandi and Sunny and Bobby Deol's long-awaited comeback vehicle Poster Boys. So expect a lot of fireworks at the box-office this September. Tell us which film are you most excited about in the comments section below.
