The Era when Punjabi tracks are taking over the control and the most heard tracks these days, No one can ever forget the name of Punjabi pop singer Daler Mehndi. Daler is the man behind a music genre called Rabbabi which is a fusion of Sufi, Thumri and Rock. His famous tracks are Bolo Ta Ra Ra', 'Dardi Rab Rab', 'Balle Balle' and 'Na Na Na Re.'

The singer has been now convicted for human trafficking by Patiala court on Friday. He has been taken into custody by the Punjab Police. The court has sentenced him two years imprisonment. The case was registered against him along with his brother, Samsher Singh in 2003. He was accused of illegally sending people abroad disguised as members of his troupes. He also charged huge sums of money for doing the same.

During 1998 and 1999, Daler Mehndi took at least 10 people as a part of his troupe and dropped them off illegally in San Fransico and New Jersey.

The human trafficking case was registered after a complaint was filed by a person named Bakshish Singh. After the case was registered, some 35 complaints surfaced against the two brothers.

Daler Mehndi was immediately granted bail in the case.
