Raj Kapoor is an actor who is also known as Ranbir Raj Kapoor. He was a Hindi film actor, producer, and Director. He was ruling the industry of his time. He was the most famous and influential actor. Today is Raj Kapoor’s death anniversary.
Raj Kapoor was born on 14 December 1924 and took his last breath on 2nd June 1988. The actor married Krishna Malhotra in 1946 and both have five children Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, Reema Kapoor, and Ritu Nanda. Raj Kapoor was born in Peshawar as the son of Prithvi Raj Kapoor (father) and Ramsarni Mehra Kapoor (Mother). He was the eldest sibling of six children in the family. He was the grandson of Dewan Basheshwarnath Kapoor, great-grandson of Dewan Keshavmal Kapoor, great-great-grandson of Dewan Murli Mal Kapoor, and was part of the famous Kapoor family. His brothers were the late actors Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor. He also had a sister named Urmila Sial.
Raj Kapoor was an asthma patient at the age of 63. He went to the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards in New Delhi. So as we know that he was an asthma patient so he always keep his asthma kit with him, so on that day he was not allowed to carry his kit to the award function, security took his kit with him, but still he entered the function after some time he was not feeling well, and even president came to his seat in the event and gave him the award. After all of that, his condition went more critical, they directly take him to All India Institute of Medical Science Hospital in New Delhi for treatment. He was admitted there for almost 1 month. At the time of his death, he was working on the film Henna and later his film is completed by his sons Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor.
He is famous for his great show in Indian cinema in which he performs as Charlie Chaplin. Raj Kapoor did his debut film Inquilab in 1935. Raj Kapoor was got famous for the movie Neel Kamal in 1947 along with Madhubala and she was also in her first role as the leading actress. Then after that Raj Kapoor got much fame with many movies such as Parvarish, Chandi Sona, Bewafa, Awaara, Bobby, Shree 420, Dastaan, Do Ustaad, Nazrana, Naseeb, Sunehere Din, and many more movies. His famous songs are Pyar Hua ikraar Hua and Jeena yahan Mrna from the film “Mera Naam Joker” and many more songs.
He won many achievements and awards in his career such as 3 National Film Awards, 11 Filmfare Awards, and 21 Nominations. He also got the Padma Bhushan Award in 1971 and also got Dada Phalke Award in 1987.
