WAS DEEPIKA PADUKONE APPROACHED FOR RANVEER SINGH'S SIMMBA?

Though Sara Ali Khan has been finalized opposite Ranveer Singh in Simmba directed by Rohit Shetty, there were several reports making the rounds about the female lead. From Katrina Kaif to Janhvi Kapoor, a lot of names came up to play the female lead in the film.

There were reports that Deepika Padukone has been approached by the filmmakers. The actor was ready to star in Vishal Bharadwaj's next opposite Irrfan Khan. But due to ill-health of Irrfan Khan, the film has been rescheduled and Deepika apparently read the script of Simmba. However, she declined the offer citing she did not like the script. And finally, Sara came on the board for the film.

A leading website asked about it, a source close to Deepika revealed that the whole report is untrue.
