Mega-star Deepika Padukone ( of ‘Pathaan’ super-hit fame) seems super-excited to represent India once again on the International Movies map as she will be in the limelight-focus on stage at the prestigious Oscars 2023. The charismatic Deepika has been invited to be among the galaxy of globally famous star-presenters and she will be presenting an Oscar Award on stage at the Academy Awards. The ‘Piku’ actress shared this fantastic news on her social media handle.
Wearing one of her scene-stealing designer outfits, Deepika Padukone will be joining the galaxy of globally famous presenters like Emily Blunt, Samuel L Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Michael B Jordan, Janelle Monae, Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Connelly, Riz Ahmed and Melissa McCarthy to be a part of this prestigious event. The 95th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday,March 12 at Los Angeles (March 13 in India). Interestingly, the cinema-savvy Deepika was on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival last year (2022)
However, the tall stunning ‘Padmaavat’; actress Deepika is not the first Indian to be a presenter at the Oscars. Way back in 1980, Indian beauty-queen model-actress Persis Khambatta ( of Hollywood movie ‘Star Trek’ movie fame) where she actually ‘shaved’ her head and became ‘bald’ for the major role. Persis made Indian cinematic history by becoming the first Indian citizen and actress to ever present an Award at the Academy Awards. Three decades later , versatile actress Priyanka Chopra was the next one to do the honours at the 88th Oscar Academy Awards in 2016.
The determined Deepika Padukone who has had a fabulous start to year 2023 with the blockbuster box-office success of her film Pathaan opposite Shah Rukh Khan and co-star John Abraham will be seen next in action-thriller movie Fighter with Hrithik Roshan with co-star Anil Kapoor.. The big-budget upcoming movie is directed by Siddharth Anand (of ‘War’ and ‘Pathaan’ fame). Recently, Rohit Shetty has announced that Deepika will be playing ‘Lady Singham’ police-officer title role in his next action-thriller movie..
