Deepika Padukone was recently in Delhi to address depression and various stigmas and notions attached to it. Deepika has been very vocal about her own battle with depression. The actress also runs a foundation which helps people suffering from it, to battle it courageously. Her foundation is called Live Love Laugh.
At the recent outing, Deepika appeared to have taken a dig at Salman Khan's comment on the issue. About a month ago, Salman was speaking at the TiE Global Summit (TGS) 2018, where he said; "I see a lot of people getting depressed and emotional, but I can't afford that luxury of being depressed or sad or emotional because no matter what I am going through, it works against me."
It seems DP happened to remember Salman's comment while she was talking about depression in Delhi. She said, "Depression is sometimes perceived as luxury... (But) It is important to break that myth."
Deepika Further added that when we see more of celebrities talking about depression and the stigma attached to it, the miscommunication happens that depression is something that happens to successful people. "I want to clarify that it can happen to anybody from any field," she said.
