Prithviraaj Kapoor was a huge star even before partition . He had completed his shooting for Shalimar Studios in Poona , the film was made by W.Z. Ahmed

It was pay day and there were just a few days to go before the festival of Holi. Prithviraaj went to the Studio and met Ahmed to ask for his dues , which was 37 thousand rupees.

Ahmed told him that his money was ready and he could just go in and collect it. Prithviraaj had a look out of the studio and saw a long queue of people standing and waiting for something.

He asked Ahmed who the people were and why they were waiting. Ahmed told Prithviraaj that they were junior artists and studio workers who were waiting for their bonus to celebrate Holi.

Prithviraaj asked Ahmed not to pay him the money due to him and asked Ahmed to get the money owed to him to all the people waiting in the queue .

And it was like an advance celebration of Holi for the people and they shouted praises in the name Prithviraaj Kapoor.
