Dev Anand's 100th birth anniversary: ​​Superstar Dev Anand may not be among us today, but his films still refresh his memories. September 26, 2023, is the 100th birth anniversary of veteran actor Dev Anand. Let us tell you that in the two-day festival named 'Dev Anand @ 100 - Forever Young' organized by the Film Heritage Foundation (FHF), four films of the actor - CID (1956), Guide (1965), Jewel Thief (1967), and Johnny Mera Naam (1970) is being shown. All four films have been directed by legendary filmmaker Vijay Anand. Waheeda Rehman was with Dev Anand in the first two.

CID (1956)

CID is a Hindi-language film made in 1956. It was directed by Raj Khosla and produced by Guru Dutt. It stars Dev Anand, Shakeela, Johnny Walker, KN Singh and Waheeda Rehman. In the film, Dev Anand plays the role of a police inspector who is investigating a murder case.

Guide (1965)

Guide is a Hindi language film made in 1965. It is based on the novel named The Guide by India's famous English writer RK Narayan.

Jewel Thief (1967)

Jewel Thief was directed by Dev Anand. Many actors like Dev Anand, Waheeda Rehman, Leela Chitnis, Anwar Hussain, Ulhas, Gajanan Jagirdar, Rashid Khan, Kishore Sahu, Praveen Kaul, Mridula Rani were seen in this film.

 

Johnny My Name (1970)

Johnny Mera Naam is a 1970 Hindi-language film. In this film directed by Vijay Anand, Devanand and Pran have played the roles of two brothers who get separated in childhood. Hema Malini, IS Johar, Iftekhar, and Premnath have also played important roles in this film.
