Just got to know about the unfortunate news of Dilip Kumar passing away. We all know he was not keeping unwell for a long time but did not expect this would happen.

What a journey he had. I have always looked up to him. He is an inspiration to every actor in the industry. He has done some fabulous work.

I loved Mughal-e-Azam. I remember how much I enjoyed watching his films Kranti, Karma, Ram Aur Shyam, Saudagar, among many others.

We had the video cassette of Karma at home and I remember watching the film quite a few times on video player along with my family.

He is a legend in the true sense of the term. May his soul rest in peace. My prayers for his family and Saira Banu ji, may God give them strength.

Dilip saab was a school of acting in himself. He was a master of subtle acting. His immense talent and pure acting brilliance mesmerised everyone.

He gave a new direction to Indian cinema by choosing realistic scripts like Naya Daur. He touched the hearts of Indian audience by becoming one of them in movies like Ram Aur Shyam.

On the other hand, he also touched a chord with his portrayal of Salim in Mughal-e-Azam.

Many of his films like Devdas, Deedar, Uran Khatola had tragic endings because of which he was also known as the tragedy king.

He was very bold to swim against the tide and smash the definition of conventional hero, especially in the era of ‘And they lived happily ever after’.

He taught Indian audience to enjoy the tragedy. I remember watching his first major hit Jugnu.

He was so confident on screen despite being new to the industry, yet precise and accurate while performing.

He taught me how to convey different emotions in the most subtle yet effective way. Watching Dilip Saab over the years has made me understand that there is a thin line between acting and underplay.

Mela, Aadmi, Madhumati, Tarana, Kohinoor are some of my favourite films of Dilip Saab. From Mohammad Yusuf Khan to Dilip Kumar, his journey has been exemplary, inspirational, extraordinary! His passing is an irreparable loss to Indian cinema. RIP Dilip Saab! You will be missed!
