DIRECTOR ARJUN REDDY SPEAKS ON HOW HE'LL TRANSFORM SHAHID KAPOOR FOR TELUGU SUPERHIT'S REMAKE

After showing his great talent skill in the magnum opus movie 'Padmaavat', Shahid kapoor will now be seen in the hindi remake of Telugu superhit movie  Arjun Reddy (2017), which was a huge success and Shahid Kapoor has to match up to that level in order to do justice to the original version. Talking about choosing Shahid as the male lead for the hindi adaptation, the director Sandeep Vanga said, "remaking your own film is 10 times tougher" and he has high hopes from Shahid Kapoor.

Shahid will play the role of a medical student with anger management issues and talking about his role in the movie, the filmaker said, "Shahid has seen the original film a couple of times. We attended a screening together in Mumbai to get the feel and understand the milieu of the film. After the screening, we had a lengthy discussion about the nitty-gritty of the character and how he plans to approach the role."

Talking about undergoing physical transformation to make Shahid look like a final year medical student, he said, "He will have to lose weight and attain a lean frame so that he looks convincing as a college student."

"Shahid has shown tremendous range in his acting. I informed him how we are going to make certain changes in the script. I am approaching it as a fresh script and not a remake of my own film. This time around, I'll be at the liberty to make it grittier as I am confident about my work," he added.

Shahid Kapoor will also attend workshops to understand his character properly. The actor is currently busy shooting for her upcoming project Batti Gul Meter Chalu.
