Art is not a luxury, but a necessity.

Disha Patani and Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 2 has hit the theatres with the storm, beating the opening day collection of Padmaavat and shattering big box-office records of Bollywood films in 2018 so far.

Disha is extremely happy with this response as she belongs to a non-filmy background and faced numerous rejections before. She still remembers how she was replaced in the film which was considered to be her debut film.

While interacting with HT, Disha said; “A film was supposed to start and they replaced me with someone else. That was my launch film. But everything happens for a reason. I learned early that rejections make you stronger. Each time you feel there’s something missing in you, you get that motivation to work harder.”

Disha also confessed that she gave up on her studies to make her dream come true. She came to Mumbai with just Rs 500. Disha said; ” I left my studies and I came to Mumbai. For a college girl to come to a new city not knowing anyone wasn’t easy. I was living alone, making my own money and never asked my family [for money]. I came to Mumbai with Rs. 500 and after a point, I didn’t have any money. I used to go for a lot of auditions, mostly for TV commercials, as there was this constant pressure on me that if I don’t get a job this month, how I will pay my rent. Everything I did was a job until I started to enjoy acting.”

She also put a rest on all the rumors of being upset with Tiger Shroff for getting all the limelight and said; ” I’ve been promoting with him  everywhere, so I don’t see a reason why I would complain.”
