It is not that every star is happy or even satisfied with the way social media functions . Their are at least 2 big stars who were a part of social media and suddenly decided to quit because of their own reasons  - Ali Peter John

Aamir Khan initially was encouraged to be a part of social media, but he realized that social media was not being of any positive use to him or the films he was making .

So , in March 2021 , he made an announcement that he was going off social media and had no intentions of returning soon .

He said , he would now be communicating with the audience through the media , like he has been doing since the time he sorted as an actor and even after he started producing and directing films.

This was a time when Aamir could have used social media to his advantage since he was making his most ambitious film , "Laal Singh Chaddha".

He could have even used social media to his advantage when he surprised one and all by announcing his separation and divorce with Kiran Rao .

But , the principled Aamir Khan stood by his decision and used only the print and tv medium to say whatever he wanted.

He further said that all his new activities would only be talked about in the media, AND NOT WITH THE SOCIAL MEDIA.

He had nothing against social media, but he said he was in his own world from where he found it difficult to walk out into a world he knew very little about.

Deepika Padukone is the other star who started with a bang on social media and was quite active .

But , it was during the peak of the Pandemic that she decided to leave social media, but she made her last request to her countless followers to take all precautionary measures to live safely during the lockdowns and that was perhaps the last time she used social media.
