After the anguish of the 2019 run-out, we got to see amazing power, respect, bravery, pride, and wonder, even though the World Cup was not won in our name the people of India are proud of their team and its players. Cricket is an emotion in India and this emotion has left its mark on the whole world. The icons you saw during the World Cup match are inspired by the new concept of the Indian tradition of performing arts. Each icon has a meaning behind it, such as People Cheering for Joy, Sudarshan Chakra for Power, Naman for Respect, Peacock for Pride, Spear for Bravery, Stars for Glory, and Zeal for the Drop.
These icons were showcased throughout the World Cup branding. It was especially used within the pattern format which is inspired by the block printing art done in India. The Icon of Joy has also been used in the World Cup logo around the cup, keeping in mind that people all over the world will come together to cheer for this World Cup. The ten dots used on the cup represent the ten teams participating in the competition. Due to the simplicity and amazing graphics of this branding, you would have seen it from the stadium to your tickets, and it was even used on the goodies given to the people.
You must have seen this pattern in the transition after every over. Through this branding, India is truly creating its identity in the whole world, and this is not just with cricket but the world got to see our creativity and also the way our culture is being reflected throughout the World Cup. Not only did the world get to know about us through our representation, but our entire country is feeling proud about it.
