Actors time and on have been seen experimenting with their looks and physique when it comes to doing justice with their roles. Dr Ashish Gokhale who would be seen in the upcoming Sony Entertainment Television show Tara from Satara has shown similar dedication for his role of Varun Mane. Actor who was fond of weight training from his college days has now shifted his mode of exercise to make him look lean and not muscular.Dr Ashish’s role in Tara from Satara is of a simple middle class man from the small town Satara and who is the younger brother in the family and thus finds himself in a weaker position to take decisions. He listens to his mother, his brother, his wife but also gives his viewpoint. The character traits of the actor in the show are not very masculine and thus, he could not look massy in the show. He had to change his look into that of a subtle man and so he shifted to doing cardio to reduce his weight.

Also, the actor has still continued his medical practice visits his clinic daily after the shoot and sometimes even stays there the entire night directly coming to shoot without even a moment of rest. For him the two fields are not his professions, but his passions and he can’t stay away from any of the two. Talking about his preparations for the show, Dr Ashish says, “My role in Tara from Satara is quite unique as it is not completely masculine but also could not look completely ignorant. For this I had to loose weight and thus I had to leave weight-training which I had been doing since my college days. Your look in the role can build or loosen audience’s interest and thus is quite necessary for it to justify your role. My character in the show ‘Varun’ could not look completely bold but also could not be highly delicate. At the same time it should not look fake, so for this character I had to work quiet a lot on my body language also. Initially when we started shooting I used to go to the director after every shot to ask if the portrayal was correct, if I could meet the demand of the character. Speaking about his medical practice he says, “Both Acting and medical practice are very close to my heart so I try to take them both hand in hand as I proceed in my life. So, when I have shoots I go to the hospital after that and it doesn’t tire me at all as both the things are instrumental in relaxing me.”
