Acclaimed star actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana ( real name Nishant) has his movie career going great guns. Having won the National Award for his awesome performance as the ‘supposedly blind’ pianist in the mega-hit crime-thriller ‘Andhadhun’, the enterprising actor seems unstoppable. The versatile Ayushmann has now convincingly played and also perfectly dubbed, mimicking a girl’s voice, for his dual fake-female character called ‘Pooja’ in movie ‘Dream Girl’ co-produced by Ekta Kapoor, which releases on September 13. “Just a day before my birthday on 14th Sept, so it’s like my B’day gift,” enthuses Ayushmaan whose wacko comedy movie’s trailer is trending big-time. Directed by Raaj Shaandilya, ‘Dream Girl’ has charming Nushrat Bharucha as the ethnic-desi glam-girl in the cast. When complimented for his ‘bahut baddhiya’ dubbing in a female voice, the modest Khurrana smiles bashfully. “ Experienced hoon, bhai. Even earlier during my stint as an R.J. , I would make prank calls in a female voice . In the past, while speaking to my first girl-friend’s parents on telephone, I would put on a falsetto female voice, posing as one of her sahelis,” laughs Ayushmann, who will surely win Awards for his riveting role wearing various female get-ups in ‘Dream Girl. Except for these few female-centric scenes, Ayushmann otherwise plays a street-smart ‘call-center’ male executive called Lokesh Bisht with ‘mascot-actor’ Annu Kapoor cast as his dynamic dad.
