The Masti franchise returns with its fourth installment, Mastiii 4, promising fresh laughter and renewed madness. Comedy Isn’t Easy — Why Is It Called the Most Difficult Genre?

Vivek: Comedy is my favourite genre. It isn’t easy to bring a smile to someone’s face, even for a moment. We’ve given our heart to this film.
Riteish: Making someone laugh is the toughest job. If you think you're funny but the person in front doesn’t laugh, nothing feels worse.
Aftab: Comedy is as much fun as it is challenging. But our 21 years of friendship has made it much easier.

After So Many Years, Does Working on Set Feel Like Auto-Pilot Mode?

Riteish: The three of us first met in 2003 — it's been 21 years now. Our friendship and our characters’ lines have blurred. It feels like we’ve become Amar–Prem–Meet in real life too. Every part connects to the next. At this point, we’ve become a family.
Aftab: We have become so synchronized that we understand each other without even speaking about what to do in a scene.

What Unique Traits or Quirks Do the Three Actresses Bring to the Film?

Ruhii: My character is a devotional, God-loving girl. She’s a bit confused but very cheerful at heart.
Elnaaz: I play Bindiya — a girl who can even “beg” for love! My character is very funny but also extremely adorable.
Shreya: I play Aanchal, a very possessive wife. She constantly tracks her husband using a device. You won’t be able to stop laughing in the film!

How Smooth Was Your Comedy Timing With the Actresses on Screen?

Riteish: Comedy is like a beautiful rhythm and melody. Every note has to be right, otherwise the punch doesn’t land. All three girls were wonderful; not once did a scene spoil. They added new flavour to the comedy with their own style.
Milap: In one scene, the three boys (Riteish, Vivek, Aftab) appear with Ruhii and Nishant in different disguises — a totally crazy scene. I just said “Action”… and the rest was their magic and madness shaking up the screen!

What Unique Twist or Quirk Stands Out in the Actresses’ Characters?

Ruhii: My character is devotional and cheerful, though a bit confused at times.
Shreya: Aanchal is a highly possessive wife who keeps tracking where her husband is. The audience will burst out laughing.
Elnaaz: Bindiya can “beg” for love — funny yet extremely lovable!

How Do You React When a Comedy Scene Has No Logic?

Milap Zaveri: These three are such natural performers that I barely need to explain anything. Sometimes I have to stop them! They don’t hit sixes from the front foot — they step into the bowler’s crease and hit it out of the park. They are very seasoned actors. Among them, Riteish is the biggest mischief-maker. We just step aside and let them do their thing — it creates such a positive atmosphere on set.
