Aamir Khan Joins The Golf Foundation’s 18th Invitational Fundraiser in Mumbai

On Monday, January 19, the 18th Invitational Fundraiser 2026 was grandly organised in Mumbai. The special event saw Bollywood actor Aamir Khan present as the chief guest. Organised by The Golf Foundation at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club, the tournament was also attended by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Commissioner Dr. Kailash Shinde and Miss India, among other distinguished guests.

Aamir Khan Speaks

On this occasion, Aamir Khan shared that his entire team has been working closely with the Paani Foundation for the last 10 years, and this work is extremely important to him. He mentioned that although he does not play golf himself, during the shoot of his film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, there was a golf course nearby.

While shooting, he noticed a few people playing golf and asked for permission to take a shot on behalf of his team. Laughing, Aamir recalled that when he was told, “Go ahead, take the shot,” he swung with full force and jokingly said, “Arre Rumin bhai, move aside.”
He admitted that initially he was scared the ball might hit someone, as he has experience in racket sports but not in golf. Despite this, he described it as a fun experience.
Praising the work of the Paani Foundation, Aamir added that the foundation has immense talent but lacks resources. This, he said, is why he has been associated with it for the past decade and intends to continue supporting it in the future.

Aamir Khan also highlighted the importance of sports and social service at the event. He said, “Golf is not just a sport, it is a symbol of concentration and patience. Fundraiser events like these help reach out to those in need in society.”

NMMC Commissioner Dr. Kailash Shinde said that the NMMC has always supported social initiatives. He stated, “Such events are extremely important to promote sports and education in Mumbai. This tournament will not only raise funds but also inspire the youth to take up sports.”

About The Golf Foundation

Through this tournament, The Golf Foundation aims to support social and charitable activities through sports. A total of 64 teams participated in the competition. During the prize distribution ceremony, winning teams were awarded trophies and certificates.
According to the organisers, over ₹50 lakh is expected to be raised this year, which will be spent on the education and healthcare of underprivileged children. Sharing more details, the club manager said, “This tradition has been going on for the last 18 years. The presence of stars like Aamir Khan takes the stature of this event to another level.”
