Known for effortlessly shifting between intense dark, comedy drama, and layered characters , Abhishek’s 2026 Netflix upcoming projects are reflecting the wide range of stories he is drawn to. From a Tamil-language series that is rooted in a different cultural and cinematic sensibility, to a much bold relationship-driven anthology and a quirky original film. Each project puts him in a completely new creative space.
Speaking about this unique and beautiful phase in his career, Abhishek Banerjee spoke detailed note, “2026 feels like one of those rare time where everything I love about acting comes together at once. Having three projects on the same platform, and also all so different from each other, is incredible and special. Legacy is my first Tamil web series and working in a different language and cultural environment has pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best possible way. It has made me more aware, more prepared, and more respectful of how storytelling can get changed with context and region.
This experience reminded me why I fell in love with acting in the first place. It constantly challenges you to unlearn and relearn.”
He further added, “Lust Stories 3 is a part of an anthology. It has always been bold, honest, and unapologetic in the way, how it talks about relationships and desires . Being a part of that universe means trusting the writing and the director completely, because these stories rely heavily on emotional truth rather than spectacle.

It allows you to deeply explore silences, awkwardness, vulnerability, all those things we don’t often talk about openly. As an actor, that kind of space is both frightening and liberating.”
Talking about Toaster, Abhishek said, “Toaster is a very special project for me, not just because of the script, but also because it’s produced by Rajkummar Rao, someone I deeply admire as an actor. The film has a special tone of quirky on the surface, but layered with emotion and observation underneath. These are the kind of stories that stay with you because they reflect everyday absurdities in such an honest way. Being trusted with this type of role makes me feel grateful and grounded.”
He hanged of by reflecting on the larger picture by saying “What really excites me is that, all the three projects exist on the same platform but none of them resemble each other. That is the beauty of where storytelling is today. As actors, we are no longer confined to one image or one format. I feel so much fortunate to be in a phase, where I can explore different languages, different genres, and emotional spaces. I hope audiences enjoy discovering these characters as much as I have enjoyed playing them.”
With 'Legacy', 'Lust Stories 3' , and 'Toaster', set to release on Netflix in 2026, Abhishek Banerjee continues to expand his creative footprints and embracing diversity in storytelling while consistently pushing the boundaries of his craft.
