Adarsh Gourav: Bollywood’s Chameleon of Characters

While many actors in the film industry get stuck in the same type of looks and characters, Adarsh ​​Gourav presents himself in a new avatar every time. From an innocent boy in Rukh to a cunning driver in The White Tiger, a gangster in Guns N Roses and a charming fitness trainer in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan—he has completely transformed himself in every character. His recently released film Superboys of Malegaon, in which he played an aspiring filmmaker, and his new avatar as a small town social media influencer in his next film 'Tu Ya Main', prove that he is one of the most versatile actors today.

Speaking about this ability, Aadarsh ​​Gourav said, “For me, acting means getting completely immersed in the character—physically, mentally, and emotionally. I don’t just play the character, I completely transform into it. Every role demands something new from me, and that is what excites me the most. Be it Dhruv from Rukh, Balram Halwai from The White Tiger, or Jugnu from Guns N Roses—I always try to make my performance look real and impactful. For this, I completely mold my expressions, body structure and mindset.”

He adds, "I believe that the look of every character matters a lot, because a person's gait, clothes and mannerisms reflect his life experiences. For the role of a fitness trainer named Neel Pereira in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, I had to build an athletic body, while as Nasir Sheikh in Superboys of Malegaon, I had to show the hunger and passion of a struggling filmmaker. And now in Tu Ya Main, I am playing the character of a small town social media influencer, which requires a different approach."

He adds, "I never want to repeat myself. This is my biggest fear. If I look and feel the same in every film, it means I am not doing justice to my work. The real fun of acting is when you get so immersed in the character that the audience forgets that they are watching an actor. This is what I try to do in every film."
