Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in the United States for a three-day official visit, during which he addressed the Indian community. Cultural performances by Indian artists took place before his arrival, featuring more than 500 artists showcasing India’s rich folk traditions. However, the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly Aishwarya Majmudar’s spirited performance.
Aishwarya, currently in the U.S. for Navratri celebrations, expressed her joy and pride at being invited to perform at such a prestigious event. "Performing in front of thousands of people is something I am used to, but singing the National Anthem at an event with the Prime Minister present and over 15,000 Indians watching was the proudest moment of my life," she gladly said.
Aishwarya is currently enthralling Gujaratis in America with her performances during the Navratri festival. While Navratri is traditionally celebrated for ten days in India, the excitement for Ras-Garba starts much earlier in the U.S. Gujaratis abroad, who may not be able to celebrate for nine consecutive days, organize Garba events every weekend from June to October.
Aishwarya Majmudar, a celebrated voice in Gujarat and beyond, continues to be a key figure in bringing the spirit of Navratri to global audiences. Her performances have captivated the hearts of Gujaratis worldwide, further cementing her status as one of the leading cultural ambassadors of the festival.
