Ali Fazal & Richa Chadha Launch ‘Rule Breakers’: Actor Ali Fazal has always believed in promoting offbeat, unconventional stories, and his recent projects only strengthen his commitment. From turning producer of the internationally acclaimed film 'Girls Will Be Girls 'to his next film, Rule Breakers, Ali has been continuously supporting stories that put women at the centre.

Not only just limited to films, Ali and his wife Richa Chadha have also pledged to train and empower women in the cinema world through an initiative called Undercurrent Lab.

Ali Fazal on Rule Breakers: Challenging Norms Through Cinema

Speaking about his initiative, Ali says, “gripping Stories have immense power, but for really a long time, that power has been leaning in only one direction. Now, that is changing, and I am glad to be a part of it. Girls Will Be Girls was just the beginning, and now, with Rule Breakers, we are going to break even more boundaries. These stories are not just important but imperative. They challenge societal norms and notions, breaking stereotypes, and bring in a new perspective that is often overlooked in mainstream films.”

Ali adds, "As long as I am an actor on screen, I will continue to support such stories. It's not just about promoting women-led and woman-oriented films but also about ensuring that the industry includes more women as writers, directors, and technicians. It was with this thought that Richa and I started Undercurrent Lab to give women the right resources and platforms to tell their stories on their own. Cinema is changing, and I want to be on the right side of this change. The time to come is for diverse voices, and I am all set to lead them."

Ali Fazal has always maintained a balance between mainstream success and socially important projects, which has made him stand out not only in India but internationally as well. His commitment to supporting women-led cinema and inclusivity in the industry is becoming an inspiration for the next generation of filmmakers and artists.
