Excited about the theatrical release, Ananyabrat Chakravarty says, “During the world premiere in New York, I got the chance to watch the film with so many strangers in a theater for the first time. Watching it on the big screen made me realize that our film truly belongs in theaters. Now that it’s finally happening, I am eagerly waiting for everyone to see it and make it their own.” (Ananyabrata Chakravarty debut feature film)

Producer Nishu Dixit shares her happiness, saying, “As a first-time producer of a crowdfunded indie film, seeing it reach the big screen feels surreal. We are immensely grateful to the actors who trusted us and to every crowd funder who supported our vision. There was no clear path, so we made our own. Reaching here has exceeded our expectations.”

After 28 years of his stellar performance in the TV series Byomkesh Bakshi, renowned actor Rajit Kapoor will now be seen as a Bengali detective in Kaisi Ye Paheli. He says, “It doesn’t happen often that a new film, an indie film, or a new director gets a theatrical release. It is very difficult, and I am genuinely happy that Kaisi Ye Paheli got the opportunity to release in theaters. It feels very good, and I am eagerly looking forward to it.”

Sukant Goyal, who plays the lead in the film, needs no introduction. Having acted in serials like Kala Pani, he says, “It’s a beautiful confluence of trust, effort, and serendipity that our film is coming to theaters. When you step into an indie project like this, it is all based on your faith in the story and in the people who have the vision. The process is a flowing journey where each day involves understanding the truth within the logical possibilities available to you, and then there is the wonderful, (New York Indian Film Festival 2025 selected movie) mysterious gift of serendipity! I am very happy, excited, and nervous, and I feel immense pride for Ananyabrat and his team.”

Director Ananyabrat Chakravarty says, “Everyone has a mother. There is no other way to come into this world. Though mothers are often seen as symbols of love, care, and sacrifice—honored in all forms of literature—they are also individuals who sometimes come in the way of our privacy, freedom, (Rajit Kapur's Bengali detective role after 28 years) and identity in ways we rarely acknowledge or discuss. They are a paradox.”

He further adds, “Through this film, I have tried to see a mother as a human being whose fundamental and universal desires for love, care, and respect exist, (Ananyabrata Chakravarty, writer, director, actor) especially toward the child to whom she has given the most precious gift—life itself.”
