During an emotional event in the capital city of Delhi, ace actor Angad Bedi along with his wife, ace actress Neha Dhupia, and the entire Bedi family, hosted a memorable evening to remember world-renowned cricketer, the great Bishan Singh Bedi and his enduring legacy. The former Indian cricket captain, who passed away in October 2023, left a huge legacy in the world of cricket. This wonderful evening also marked his contribution to the game of cricket and in another special occasion, as it was organized to commemorate Bishan Singh Bedi's birthday on 25th September, supported by Glorious Cricket Group and Playwright Foundation, without whom this evening would not have been possible. Cricket Legends Honor Bishan Singh Bedi at a Memorable Event The beautiful and eventful event was attended by notable cricket personalities including Kapil Dev, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Mohammad Azharuddin, Murali Karthik, Ajay Jadeja, Ram Guha, Madan Lal and Gul Panag, Gaurav Kapoor. All these legendary celebrities came together to honor the late iconic cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi. An important highlight of the event was the announcement made by Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia about the revival of Bishan Singh Bedi Cricket Coaching Trust (BBCCT). Founded by Bishan Singh Bedi, the Trust has played a vital role in shaping the careers of many young cricketers, including the great Yuvraj Singh, who was mentored by Bedi himself. The revamp aims to modernize the Trust's infrastructure and expand its reach to help reach young talent at the grassroots level, while also ensuring that it provides a platform for talent to thrive in cricket. Reflecting on his father's legacy, Angad Bedi said, "To celebrate his commitment to the game, my father always treated his fellow cricketers as members of his family. He firmly believed that the more you give to the game, the more it will give back to you, but without expecting anything in return. His mantra was to remain committed and keep his head bowed down. We would like to carry forward his trust and carry forward his teachings with this initiative. He always believed in supporting grassroots cricket and providing platforms to cricketers to showcase their talent." Neha Dhupia said, "Dad's legacy goes beyond his achievements on the cricket field. He was an institution in himself, teaching integrity, sportsmanship, and a deep love for the game. The revival of Bishan Singh Bedi Cricket Coaching Trust is another step towards keeping his legacy alive, providing many aspiring cricketers the same opportunities and guidance he provided. Considered one of the best spin bowlers in the history of cricket, Bishan Singh Bedi captained India in 22 of his 67 Test matches and took 266 wickets. Known for his sporting spirit, Bishan Singh Bedi was a guiding force for many players, including the new-generation cricketer Yuvraj Singh, and he remained deeply connected to the cricket community even after his retirement. As well as being a great cricketer, he was also a patron and champion of sports as a whole, with cricket being his main field. The event, which brought together cricketing legends and close family friends, was a heartfelt tribute to the immense contribution made by Bishan Singh Bedi to Indian cricket as a player and a mentor. The evening concluded with a collective pledge to continue their work, ensuring that their passion for nurturing young talent lives on through the revamped Trust.
