Designer Anjali Phougat has been making headlines with her designs that she is presenting on international platforms. Giving a glimpse of her Indian roots, her collection has a modern flair. She recently made her debut at the LA Fashion Week, and is grateful for the opportunity. Indian professional wrestler and MMA fighter, actor, motivational speaker, and health expert Sangram Singh was the showstopper for her show.
She said, “This year has been full of major milestones. One of the most prominent was my debut at LA Fashion Week, where I launched my ‘Satori’ collection—an ode to the soul journey and inner wisdom.”
“Additionally, I’m truly proud to have launched the first-ever Indian saree collection on the CFDA platform, an honor that holds a special place in my heart. I’ve also worked on dressing inspiring women who use their platforms to empower others, which aligns with my philosophy of fixing each other’s crowns,” she added.
She also represented her collection at the New York Fashion Week and is happy with the experience. She said, “New York Fashion Week is always a whirlwind of creativity and innovation. This year was no different. It’s exhilarating to be surrounded by such talent and to contribute to the ever-evolving conversation of fashion.”
“For me, it was about more than just showcasing designs; it was about telling a story that resonates on a deeper level—one of authenticity, sustainability, and empowering others. The response was incredibly positive, and it’s humbling to see the impact of my work in such a prestigious setting,” she added.
Anjali had an incredible 2024, and she shared that it was filled with immense growth, learning, and exciting opportunities. “I’ve traveled extensively this year, which has expanded my cultural understanding and deepened my connection with the global fashion community. The year has also been spiritually significant, allowing me to focus on inner wisdom and align my goals with positivity and productivity. It’s been a year of embracing clean living, self-care, and personal evolution, both as a designer and as an individual,” she said.
She is co-producing fashion week events in Dubai, London, India, Paris, and Milan, and said, “These events will be an incredible opportunity to showcase Indian artisans on a global stage and continue supporting sustainable fashion. Beyond that, I’m working on several exciting collaborations that will bring my vision of blending heritage and modern fashion to life in new, unexpected ways. There’s always something brewing, and I can’t wait to share more soon.”
What next? “After LA Fashion Week, I’m focusing on bringing my collections to international audiences. I’m excited to work on fashion events in Dubai, London, and beyond, each of which will highlight Indian craftsmanship and artisans on a global platform. Additionally, I’m collaborating on a few sustainability-focused projects that will bridge the gap between luxury fashion and responsible design practices. There’s so much in the pipeline, and I’m looking forward to what’s next,” Anjali ended.
