Anupama Solanki on ‘Jamuniya’: My Love for Laughter Helps Me Bring This Role to Life

Anupama Solanki, known for her roles in shows like 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatien,' 'Nath - Krishna Aur Gauri Ki Kahani,' and 'Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai,' will soon appear in Shemaroo TV's 'Jamuniya.' She is thrilled about her role, saying that it’s her most ambitious and long-awaited project.

Shemaroo Jamuniya: Anupama Reveals Her Casting Journey

Anupama shared, "We started talking about this project with the casting team in September. I was finalized for the role in November, signed the agreement in December, and we officially started shooting in February 2025. I’m extremely excited about 'Shemaroo Jamuniya.'"

The show addresses society’s obsession with fair skin. She said, "People are judged based on their skin tone, especially in the entertainment industry. Many actresses undergo treatments, use fairness creams, or even have cosmetic surgeries to achieve a fairer complexion."

For the first time in her career, Anupama will be playing a comedy character. Reflecting on this, she said, "My previous roles in 'Nath Krishna Aur Gauri Ki Kahani' and 'Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai' were negative. But this show has multiple shades, and the story is filled with comedy and entertainment. I naturally love to laugh and joke, which will help me bring this role to life."

She added, "My character is central to the story. She’s someone who plots and schemes, but in a humorous way. The audience will see me in a vibrant, modern look, very different from my past roles."

Anupama expressed her happiness about working with Shemaroo TV, stating, "Shemaroo has been a major name in entertainment since long before channels like Star Plus, Sony TV, and Zee TV. While people often questioned my choice to work on Dangal TV shows, I learned that content matters more than channels. If the story is strong, viewers will watch and appreciate it."

She further explained how platforms like Shemaroo provide good budgets and visibility, sometimes even better than big TV channels. "The industry is changing, and brands like Shemaroo and Dangal TV have become significant players. I’ve been in the entertainment industry for five years now, and I’m truly satisfied with my journey so far," she concluded.
