Super- Star ‘Badshah’ Shah Rukh Khan added another glorious achievement to his filmy career crown! On August 10, he became the first Indian personality to be honored and awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award called Pardo alla Carriera, or Career Leopard,. This was at the 77th edition Locarno Film Festival 2024. (in Switzerland-Europe) Shah Rukh Khan also confirmed later on that his next film is titled King, an action film, for which he will have to ‘lose weight’ likely to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh. SRK’s star-actress daughter Suhana Khan ( of ‘The Archies’ OTT Netflix fame) will also probably be cast in the upcoming ‘King’ movie.
Many SRK ardent fans and Bollywood followers were wondering how and why the international Award prestige title Career Leopard was suitable enough for; King Khan. According to wildlife experts, leopards are very fast-moving animals who are athletic and have this amazing ability to quickly climb to the top, Now all these attributes can be observed in athletic-nature Shah Rukh Khan’s fast-moving career rise from a popular talented TV artiste on various Doordarshan TV shows (like ‘Dil Dariya’ ‘Fauji’ and ‘Circus’) to his big-screen climb-up as super-star reaching the great heights with his super-hit movies like ‘Deewaana', Baazigar, ‘Darr' Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and many more.
SRK said to the Locarno-film-fest audience "Thank you all for welcoming me with such wide arms - wider than the ones I do on screen," he said with his dimpled smile with reference to his his famous open-armed romantic pose.
The ‘Pathaan and ‘Jawaan’ mega-star continued, "Art and cinema only need to say what it feels from the heart, to express its own truth. And that, to me, is the biggest creativity.”
Looking back on his 36-year acting career in the film industry, versatile SRK touched on the diverse roles he has played. "I've been a villain, I've been a champ, I've been a superhero, I've been a zero, I've been a rejected fan, and I've been a very, very resilient lover."...
As the crowd cheered, SRK made a few attempts and one last attempt at correctly pronouncing the award's difficult Italian name, (Pardo alla Carriera) before laughing and saying, "Can you keep a shorter name? Just like, 'arrivederci.'", said Shah Rukh.
‘Arrivederci’ means ‘goodbye’ in Italian language.
As part of the Locarno film-fest tributes, the festival also screened King Khan's 2002 musical-super-hit movie Devdas made by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali
