As Good as Hollywood! ‘Dhurandhar’ directed by Aditya Dhar – ‘mind-blowing,action-blockbuster’ assures Jyoti Deshpande  (JIO Studios) backed by power-house performers--supreme Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun at sensational- trailer launch event !! “Ghaayal hoon—issliye Ghaatak hoon !– that’s incredible power-house performer 'Baba' Ranveer ‘Dhurandhar’ Singh’s dhamaakedaar dialogue in the mind-blowing trending viral ‘Dhurandhar’ violence-action studded movie trailer released yesterday afternoon!

After his critically acclaimed landmark gripping war-action-thriller 2019 hit Uri: The Surgical Strike, millions of ardent fans are eagerly anticipating genius writer-director Aditya Dhar's latest multi-starrer mega-action thriller  Dhurandhar co-produced by Jio Studios ( Jyoti Deshpande), Lokesh Dhar and Aditya Dhar  The flamboyant energetic Ranveer Singh plays the protagonist macho, daring character of a RAW  Agent in the film, which is based on real events. Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal round out the lead ensemble cast, supported by versatile veteran actor Rakesh Bedi, who apparently plays a scheming Pakistani politician and is the pivotal fulcrum of the awesome story. The romantic-glamour quotient opposite Ranveer is provided by brilliant, charming 20-year-old actress Sara Arjun, who has acted in several movies, especially in legendary Mani Ratnam’s 2022-23 movies PS-1 and PS-2 where Sara played the on-screen younger version of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Ranveer praised his romantic co-star Sara Arjun. He said, “She is a child prodigy. She reminds me of stunning Hollywood star (Hannah) Dakota Fanning. She has made me look good in the film.”

With the recurring release of different character posters and the dramatic naming of each lead, and now the directors have generated a great deal of expectation. Cast members Sanjay Dutt ("The Jinn"), Arjun Rampal ("The Angel of Death"), and Madhavan ("The Charioteer of Karma") have recently been introduced, with Khanna joining them as "The Apex Predator" in a storyline based around a complicated showdown between powerful forces.

At the Dhurandhar trailer launch event, held at the opulent, magnificent NMACC Cultural Center ( at Mumbai-BKC), Ranveer Singh heaped praises at his co-star Sanjay Dutt. Reacted Ranveer,, “It’s a massive deal for me to be in a movie with Sanjay Dutt. He has been one of my screen idols since childhood, one of the major motion picture heroes from the 90s. I copied his style and watched all his movies from a young age. And now to be in a movie with him is extremely special. !"

Since he mentioned copying Sanjay Dutt’s style, director Aditya Dhar asked him to ‘mimic’ the ‘Munnabhai’ actor. Ranveer laughed, and said that the dialogue-mimicking will go viral. He then almost-perfectly recreated Sanjay Dutt’s iconic delivery and recited the dialogue from the film Actually, off-screen Ranveer is an amazing mimic and can even perfectly imitate late Amrish Puri’s growling bass voice.

Meanwhile, both Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna ( villainish ‘Aurangzeb’ character of mega-hit ‘Chhaava’ movie fame)  could not attend the grand trailer launch of Dhurandhar. Speaking about their absence, co-star Arjun Rampal jokingly shared, “Sanjay-Sir and Akshaye couldn’t be here today as they didn’t get their ‘visas’ on time. They were really looking forward to joining us for the launch, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out."

It was being avidly speculated that both Akshaye and Sanjay were possibly requested to ‘avoid; coming into media limelight, as part of a publicity strategy. Ot they were both genuinely busy with some other movie-distant-location-shoots

Sanjay Dutt plays the macho character S P Chaudhary Aslam in Dhurandhar. He is deadly, highly provocative, and completely rooted in the grey. Dutt plays a character who brings cold, controlling intensity to the film’s dark angle.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh introduced his character as the Wrath of God! Speaking about the film, on social media, he said, “We wanted to create a feature presentation that’s at par with any film in the world. Our attempt was to level up in every aspect of the cinematic process to create a film that we as Indians can be proud of. Its raw, its gritty and is unapologetically Indian. Director Aditya has pitched it perfectly."

There are strong rumours that  Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar might release in two parts like Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana — Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: Part 1 and Ramayana: Part 2. A source was quoted saying, “There have been reports that Dhurandhar is a two-part saga. Hence, the film, which will be released on December 5, will be the first installment. It’ll end at a decisive point and the story will then continue in the second part.” It all depends on the climax now, because if there’s a cliff-hanger scene like ‘Kattappa ne Baahubali ko kyun maar

Pointing out that his dream is for India to experience what Parasite (2019) did for South Korea or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) did for China, director Aditya Dhar said he wants to reach a point where everyone can attest that India produces many international-quality films. "At the same time, it should also be entertaining, and not categorised as arthouse movies. That's always been my intent," said Aditya.

Meanwhile, Deepika’s mega-star-actress-wife Deepika Padukone reacted to the trailer, celebrating Ranveer’s ability to mould himself as per the demands of the character. “The chameleon is back,” Deepika wrote as people spoke about Ranveer’s long haired-ripped look in Dhurandhar. The ‘ Gully Boy’ actor plays an Indian spy who infiltrates into the highest ranks of Pakistani intelligence.

Speaking about evergreen veteran Rakesh Bedi, who will complete 50 years in showbiz, next year,  Ranveer said, “Rakesh sir, I watched you ever since I was a little kid. I am so proud to be sharing screen space with you in a film like this. We are so proud to say that after 49 glorious years of his acting career, this is one of his most standout performances. It’s very easy to tell a complex story when you have an anchor of entertainment, like Rakesh sir.”

Talking about the Aditya Dhar directorial, Ranveer Singh said, “I am so happy that I got to be a part of something where we are trying to push for something more. Take our cinema to the world. This is India’s moment on the world stage, and we want to be at the center of it. When Sir told me this story, I was dumbfounded. It is engaging, dense, and gripping throughout. This film is massy without trying to be massy.”

Ranveer Singh also went on to share how Arjun Rampal uplifted him on set and revealed how girls swooned over him on set. He said, “Arjun sir is known to be the most handsome man on earth. Of late, people are now recognizing his depth and range as an actor. Despite him looking like an absolute monster, girls were swooning over him on the set. His acting has been absolutely ace. Thank you for uplifting me on set. It was very difficult; we would get hurt, even he tripped several times, hurt his forehead, but then he would get up and resume shooting. He was an absolute beast.”

Curiously enough, Ranveer seemed to have forgotten---- that handsome Arjun Rampal in a villainish role was his wife Deepika Padukone’s co-star in her debut super-hit musical movie ‘Om Shanti Om’ (2007)

Talking about Akshaye Khanna and Sanjay Dutt, Ranveer added, “Akshaye sir is going to be a scene stealer like always. It’s a massive deal for me to be in a movie with Sanju Baba. He has been my screen idol since I was a child; he was a major motion screen star of the 90s, I have copied his style, watched all his movies, so doing this film with him was extremely special.”

Potential Hollywood-class slick gripping action spy-thriller blockbuster Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, is co-produced by Lokesh Dhar of B62 Productions and Jyoti Deshpande of JIO Studios. The film is slated to release in theaters on Friday, 5th December.
